The Coffee King Was Named As A Person Of The Year!

The First Moscow International Coffee Forum has ended. According the information of the more than 350 persons from 12 countries visited the conference. Federal and business TV channels and journalists from business editions covered the Forum’s event.
Particular attention of the participants was concentrated to the performance of Nestor Osorio – Executive Director of International Coffee Organization who characterized the general condition of the world situation of the coffee manufacture and consumption area. He emphasized that nowadays the world prices for coffee are increasing that is connected with ever-growing demand over supply for this product. In his report he also noted an interesting fact: for the first time for many years the difference of prices between Robusta and Arabica sort’s essentially decreased.
Lively interest was excited by Andrey Kushnirenko, Deputy Director of Trading Negotiations Department of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russian Federation who litted the veil of secret for Russian tariff policy regarding coffee after joining WTO. According to his information customs for import of roasted coffee will be decreased to 8% but not less than 0, 16 euro for a kilo and for instant coffee to 7, 5 but not less than 0, 34 euro for a kilo. He also proposed that Russia will enter WTO from the 1 of January, 2009.
The professional Cup-Testing of coffee bin during the Forum gathered many comers. Gloria Pedroza – World Cup-Tasting Champion (Speciality Coffee Association of Europe) and Quality Control Manager of NKG Quality Service Department of Neumann Kaffee Gruppe shared here experience with visitors.
At the Round- table conference participants of the Forum discussed the plans of Coffee industry development in our country. Such persons as Andrey Elson - «KLD Coffee Importers», Alexander Akopov –«Zolotiye Kupola», Vladislav Dudakov - «Coffee House», Sergey Kasjanenko - «Orimi Trade», Alexander Malchik –«Montana Coffee», and Alexander Borisov Trade House «Grand» took part in the discussion. It should be added that all participants face the future optimistic.
Sergey Kasjanenko has suggested the task of increasing the coffee consumption per capita to 1, 5 kilos from 750 grams is real. He also paid attention to dependence between successful Coffee Trade Development in our country and growth of Russian citizens’ welfare.  
Andrey Elson expects the price increasing for the green coffee that will eventually influence the price for final product. Alexander Akopov emphasized a certain stagnation an a segment of instant coffee but foretold the growth of sublimated coffee consumption, minimum to 15% in nearest years. Edit this position Alexander Borisov General Director of Trade House «Grand» predicted a probable growth of instant coffee import that made abroad. Alexander Malchk concentrated his attention on the problems of specialty coffee segments stressing the fact that this segment can be a leading point in the further development of the whole trade. He applied to great commercial companies with offer to reinforce their role in struggle of coffee quality. Vladislav Dudakov was glad that powerful west competitors such as Starbucks and Costa Coffee appeared in Russian coffee market because it stirs up the competitive spirit in coffee market.
Summing up The First Moscow International Coffee Forum we can point out the high interest of the market participants to such brunch event. The organizing committee emphasized the sponsors’ role of forming common coffee corporative atmosphere. Thanks to them the Forum took one of the central places among the professional world coffee conferences.

There the professional magazine «Coffee and Tea in Russia» announced about the presentation of public award – «The person of the year – Coffee King» that is rewarded on results of the year to the leaders who have brought the contribution in the development of the coffee market. According to this position  the honor can be awarded to those who has achieved high results in their work and has taken an active part in solving industry wide problems, promoted the knowledge extension in coffee market, introduced new technologies in sphere of manufacture and trade of  high quality coffee products.  
The real crown of manual work with elements of the coffee symbolic, covered with mosaic gold (gold leaf) and Swarovski’s crystals, made by two artists Yakimenko and Danilchenko, has been presented to Sergej Kasjyanenko, chairman of the board of «Orimi Trade» Company.
